"Appalachian Trail"

Photograph
This part of the trail in Tennessee sees
hundreds of hikers each year. One winter morning,
thinking I would be the first one out, I ventured into
the cold with my camera. The freshly fallen snow told
of the dozens of travelers that had come before me. Even
so, I followed in their steps for a way, leaving my
own marks upon the snow.
"Walk on the Beach"

Photograph
In a different season, I wandered a deserted beach,
camera in hand. Deep in thought, I looked out over the
sea and sand, searching for that ever elusive perfect
shot. It was not until I turned back on to my own foot-
prints, retracing my steps, that I found the picture I
was looking for.
"Flock"

Photograph
There is a beach that at sunset is transformed into a
vision in my mind. Even the sea birds are drawn there
to stand vigil with the setting sun. It is my
favorite place, and apparently, it is the birds favorite
place as well.
"Fan"

Photograph
"The coral reefs off the South Florida coast become even
more fascinating when viewed close up. The community of
tiny living things create their own design in this fan
coral. It amazes me that such beauty exists hidden deep
below the surface, waiting to be seen.
"Egret"

Photograph
A white cattle egret stood motionless, regarding me and
my camera with caution. I, in turn, stood motionless
long after I had taken the picture, admiring the
elegant bird. Once again, the observer had become the
observed.
